Why it exists

The work that stops a reselling business growing is not sourcing and it is not shipping. It is the hour at the end of the day spent typing the same fields into the same form, one item at a time.

Plenty of software claims to fix that. Most of it fixes the wrong half: it copies a listing you have already written to other marketplaces. The writing is the work. And the tools that do try to write it for you will cheerfully state a specification the item does not have, because a plausible answer looks more finished than an honest blank.

For individual second-hand goods that is expensive. A missing field you fill in. A wrong field you do not notice becomes a return, a refund and a mark against your account.

The principle

That is not a slogan, it is how the software is built. A fact that cannot name the photograph it came from and say what in that photograph shows it is discarded before you see it. Price, weight, quantity and condition cannot be produced at all, because a photograph does not contain them. Something written rather than read is labelled differently from something read off a rating plate, so the two never carry the same weight on screen.

How it is built

Boringly, on purpose. Every seller's data is isolated by the database itself rather than by application code remembering to filter. Marketplace credentials are encrypted. Stock levels are a calculation the database performs and refuses to let go negative. The test suite runs against a real database because the interesting failures only happen in a real one.

None of that is visible to you, and all of it is the difference between software you can put a business on and software you cannot.
